Have you seen these gorgeous hurricanes from Williams-Sonoma?
Large one: on SALE for $59.99 from Williams-Sonoma
Medium one: on SALE for $29.99
Small one: on SALE for $12.99
But how about if you could make one for $2.00? :)
Decor Chick was the first one I saw create them:
Then Sarah at Thrifty Decor Chick found fluted cylinders at Dollar Tree, and caused a mad rush to Dollar Tree everywhere for the fluted versions! ( I REALLY need to learn how to take better pictures like her!)
So I headed to my local Dollar Tree to create mine! :)
To create each hurricane you need 1 glass cylinder, 1 glass candlestick, and some type of glue (gorilla glue, super glue, or hot glue.) I wanted my hurricanes to have varying heights so I bought 1 candlestick from Dollar Tree and the other 2 in different heights from Goodwill (1 was $0.91, the other was $1.51.)
I cleaned the sticker off the bottom of the cylinder and used gorilla glue to glue the candlestick to the bottom of the cylinder. (Gorilla glue requires you to have pressure to adhere the 2 pieces to each other.) So I used my husband’s heavy commentaries to weigh it down. :)
Here they are filled with red candles, ivy, and lit! Aren’t they pretty? $6.00 bucks!
I have them on my table right now as the centerpiece.
But I am dreaming them on my mantel filled with leaves and a candle for fall, or filled with ornaments or red berries for Christmas! I can’t wait! :)
$2.00 each! Love it! You could give these as gifts, use them as centerpieces for weddings or events, use them as vases…the possibilities are endless!
So head to your local Dollar Tree and get yours! (If you don’t find them in stock, ask the manager because at my store there was none on the shelf but they had plenty in the back. :)
So beautiful! Now I wish I had a mantel or a big table to put them on and not small kids to break them. Hmm would be a wonderful gift though. Thanks for sharing :)

I saw the version with the white candle. Those were nice but the red candles make them look warmer and richer. Great post and nice pictures!
