So Thankful for CVS

My little boy is very sick, and when my baby is sick I don't really care how much I need to spend in order to help him feel better. I really needed to get him some Motrin because I could not keep his fever down. I had some at home, but we are out of town, and I didn't bring it with me. Thankfully I had a large stash of Extrabucks, and although I "spent" quite a few on the Motrin, I only had to pay a few cents in actual cash. It is such a blessing to be able to get what I need without having to spend a whole lot of money on it.

If you are haven't gotten started "CVSing" yet, you can read more about it here, here, and here.

V8 V-Fusion Coupon

Here's a printable coupon for $2.00 off V8 V-Fusion Acai Mixed Berry. It costs $3.69 at Harris Teeter, so I'm guessing it will be around $3.00 at Wal-Mart, making it around $1.00 with the coupon. If you wait for it to go on sale somewhere you could probably get it for even less.

*Note: You will probably have to print this in Firefox. Those Smartsource coupons never seem to work in Internet Explorer!

CVS Trips

I made 2 CVS transactions tonight. The going was a little rough because everything I had planned to get to help make the cereal deal better was out of stock. I decided I'd use the Nivea deal to help me out, but even that could have been a whole lot better if I could have printed more coupons from my presently internet-less other computer. It still turned out okay, though, and I'm pretty happy with how much I paid for the cereal.

Transaction #1

2 Boxes Honey Nut Cheerios and 1 Box Fiber One bars = $10.00
1 Nivea shaving gel = $2.69
1 Nivea shaving gel = $3.99
Total before coupons = $16.68
Minus $3/$15
Minus 2 $1.00 off Honey Nut Cheerios
Minus 1 $2.00 off Nivea
Total ECB's used = $9.38
Total oop = $.50
ECB's received = $0.00

Transaction #2

2 Boxes Cinnamon Toast Crunch and 1 Box Lucky Charms = $10.00
1 Nivea Shave Gel = $3.99
1 CVS cotton swabs = $3.19
Total before coupons = $17.18
Minus $3/$15
Minus $.55/2 Cinnamon Toast Crunch
Minus $1/2 from 6/8 Smartsource
Total ECB's used = $10.00
Total oop = $.83
ECB's received = $17.00 (cereal - $10; Nivea - $5; Cotton swabs = $2)

Between both transactions I spent $1.33 cash and $2.38 in ECB's for a total of $3.71. That comes out to about $.67 per box for the cereal, plus some other stuff I can give away. If you only count my actual out of pocket cost, I only spent $.22 per box.

We eat a lot of cereal at our house, so this was a great deal for us! And this to me was not even a great night due to lack of stock and coupons! If you have not started shopping at CVS yet, I hope this is enough encouragement to get started! You can learn the ropes in my 3 part series here, here, and here.

Dove Coupon Reminder

If you want to do the Dove monthly deal at CVS (buy $10, get $3 ECB), you will probably want to do it next week (week of June 8). Several of the Dove products will be on sale that week.

Also, although there will be some more Dove coupons coming out in the June 8 inserts, the ones we got in the 3/16 insert expire tomorrow. If you want to have more coupons to work with, do the Dove deal tomorrow so you use the coupons that expire tomorrow as well as the new ones that will come out.

Free Band-Aids at Walgreens

Band-Aids will be on sale for $.99 next week (June 8-14). Use the $1 coupon that was in the 5/18 Redplum to get them for free! (If you don't already have enough band-aids from CVS, that is.) The cashier may adjust the coupon down to $.99 or you might just get the overage.

Cheap Chips at Wal-Mart

I finally remembered last night to check on those Lay's chips that Carlie at Why Ask Why posted about a while back. Sure enough, the small bags are $.30 each, and I had coupons for $.55 off 2. So I got 2 bags for 5 cents! The coupon does beep, but I think it's just because they have to make sure you bought 2. The coupon came out in the 4/13 Smartsource, and expires on June 8, so you still have a few days to use it. It doesn't have any picture on it, it's tan colored, and easy to miss, just in case you have trouble locating it!
Oh, and if you have trouble finding the small bags of chips, at my Wal-Mart they were in a display at the front of the store. Don't get them mixed up with the ones at the registers. Those are a little bigger, and they cost $.80.

Monday, June 2, 2008

More Free Chex Mix

The $1.00 off Chex Mix coupon has been reset (at least I assume it has since I already printed it, but was able to print it again.) Chex Mix is on sale 5 for $5 at CVS this week, so with the coupon it will be free!
Get your coupon here. There's another one here if you haven't already printed it.

New CVS $3 off $15 Coupon!

I was planning to make sure I got to CVS this week before the $3/$15 expired, but thankfully we now have another one that does not expire until June 14!

To get yours, sign up for a 2 week free trial of the Beacon Journal online version. After you get your confirmation email and activate your account, you can get the coupon one of two ways:

1. Open up the June 1 edition and go to page A9 either by clicking the arrow at the bottom of the page until you come to A9 or by replacing A1 in the address bar with A9.

2. Access the coupon directly with this link. You still need to have signed up for the free trial, though.

Enjoy your coupon! Thanks, Money Saving Mom!
