Just some suggestions - call ahead to your local Picture People to make sure that they will accept this coupon. Some stores might not accept this coupon if you are not a Potrait Club member, but some stores are taking it from anyone. Get a coupon for a FREE box of Lipton Tea!

I just read about this great deal that MaryEllen posted over at The Deal Scoop!

Here's how to get a coupon for a FREE box of Lipton Tea.

Call 1-888-435-3639 and complete the survey to get your coupon mailed to you.

I love sweet tea - especially in the summer so I am so excited to get my coupon for a FREE box. I also like to flavor my tea with juice concentrate or fresh fruit. I always love all the flavored teas like blackberry or mango tea that they offer in the restaurants, but making them at home are much cheaper. Do you have any great recipes or tips for flavoring your tea?

*New feature* - Menu Plan Monday!

Here's a new feature I would like to start here at CentsibleSavings. I know that many of you probably plan weekly menus and you might even participate in Menu Plan Monday at orgjunkie.com. I will be honest, I usually just plan my menu in my head because I have a lot on hand in my stockpile, and I am a "eat what I feel like that day" person. But I NEED to get into the habit of actually planning a menu and using up some forgotten things in my stockpile and I can keep myself accountable by sharing it with you!

Here's a few explanations of our menu: I will only post dinner meals for now. Our family consists of just my husband and I for now and we both work so breakfasts and lunches will be food we just keep on hand or leftovers. Here's typically what we do for breakfasts: for him - oatmeal, grits, granola bar, yogurt, etc. and for me - I eat breakfast at work - toast, bagel, yogurt, fruit, etc. Then for lunches we are usually at work so my husband takes leftovers from supper the day before (I also keep on hand cans of hearty soup or a prepared meal for days just in case there are no leftovers but 4 out of 5 days he will eat leftovers) and I have fruit salad, crackers and cheese or peanut butter, or a sandwich. Also because of our work and church schedule our meals are somewhat unusual on a few days: Wednesdays we usually don't have time to eat in between work and church so we try to eat a bigger lunch and will just snack when we get home from church, Fridays we are both home late and will eat a lighter meal, and on Sundays we will eat our bigger meal for lunch.

So here is what we will have for dinner this week:

Monday -
grilled turkey tenderloin, grilled corn on the cob, mashed potatoes
(My husband and I both do a lot of grilling during the summer - so you will see a lot of grilled food for the next few months.)

dessert - Fresh Fruit Pizza (I picked blueberries last week, got strawberries for $.99 at Aldi's, and have cream cheese and sugar cookie dough in the refrigerator that need to be used so this will be good! I adapt the recipe I linked above by adding a few teaspoons of powdered sugar to the cream cheese and I only make 1 "pizza" with the cookie dough on my large Pampered Chef Pizza stone. You can use any fruit you want but I always try to include strawberries and kiwi as they are especially good with this recipe.)

Tuesday - our day off
breakfast - homemade, hot from the oven, blueberry muffins for breakfast with my fresh blueberries I picked last week - yummy, can't wait!

dinner - grilled chicken salad and toasted french bread. I cut chicken breasts into strips and marinate in Italian dressing. Then I (or my husband!) grill them on the grill and serve over a bed of greens, tomatoes, cheese, and bacon. Perfect for a hot summer day!

Wednesday -
leftovers or snacks (see explanation above)

Thursday -
dinner at a friend's house so no dinner to plan for tonight :)

Friday - BLT sandwiches, chips

Saturday -
we are heading out of town as soon as my husband gets off work so we will probably grab fast food on this day.

Sunday -
we will be out of town so will eat out for this meal with David's family

So there you go - our somewhat unique menu plan. How about you? Do you menu plan and what is on your menu this week? As I am fairly new at this, I would love to hear how you plan your menus and any suggestions and ideas you have for me. I hope to share recipes with you in future menu posts and I would love to read some of your favorite recipes.

Sunday Sustenance

Our country just celebrated Independence Day and our 233rd birthday yesterday. It is a day to celebrate our freedom and remember all of the many sacrifices that were given, and blood that was shed to provide that freedom for us!!!!!! Even today, there are soldiers all around the world that are sacrificing for us - being away from their families and putting their lives in danger so that our country and our families can remain safe and free. I am eternally thankful for them! And I am thankful that the Lord has allowed me to live in America!

But there is another person who offered even a greater sacrifice - He gave His own life for us in order for us to have freedom. Not political freedom, but spiritual freedom and freedom from sin and eternal death in hell. Jesus Christ died and rose again for all, so we may have life eternal! If you would like to learn more please check out this post.

Crazy Coupon Capers - lots of free ziplocs!

I am still trying to eat out of my pantry and freezer, but couldn't pass up some of the freebies and great deals this week. And I did need a few things for our 4th of July cookout too.

Publix trip #1, 2 and 3

Total $90.30
- $72.50 in coupons
I paid $17.80!

The ziplocs and Raid (and hotdogs!) were all free after coupon and I used (3) $5/25 Rite Aid coupons to help pay for my other groceries!

Publix trip #3

Total $48.66
-$44.61 in coupons
I paid $4.05

Ziplocs and Raid were free, A1 was $0.10 after coupon. Used a $5/25 coupon to help pay for the other groceries. Have I said before that I LOVE Publix!!! I love their coupon policy of taking competitor coupons and being able to use 2 coupons - a store coupon and manuf. coupon on one item. I went to a new location this week and they were sooo nice! No complaints, just smiles about processing my huge stack of coupons.

Kroger trip

Total $29.95
-$11.49 in coupons
I paid $18.46

The cheese was $1.03 after promo price. The chicken was on sale for $1.99/lb. but I had a coupons for $1.00 off a package of chicken. I found the smallest packages I could find - most were 1 1/2 lbs. So I got the boneless, skinless chicken breasts for about $1.25 - $1.33 /lb. Great price for chicken breasts! Hoping they have them on sale for $1.99 again before the coupons expire at the end of the month.

Total for all trips $40.31 - so right at my $40.00 a week grocery budget with lots of ziplocs and chicken to spare! :)

Link in and leave a comment of your shopping trips this week!
