Money Maker at CVS: Glucerna Shakes

Buy Glucerna shakes and make $1.51 per pack at CVS, plus get an additional rebate for $1 per pack! Here's how:

Register at the Glucerna website. After you register, sign up for the "Control Plan for Weight Loss" feature. When you have finished that, go to your Control Center, and there you will find a printable coupon for $10 off a Glucerna shakes multipack. Don't forget to backspace and refresh your page to print a second coupon.

This week at CVS you get $2 ECB's when you buy $10 of Abbott Nutrition products. The Glucerna shakes qualify for this. They cost $10.49 per pack. So, buy a pack of shakes for $10.49, and use your $10 off coupon. Pay $.49 and receive $2 in ECB's.

To make the deal even better, you can send in for a rebate at Caregiver's Marketplace. You must buy at least 5 packs, and they will give you $1 cash back for each pack.

Free Ink Refill at Walgreens

There was a coupon Sunday's Parade magazine for a free ink cartridge refill at Walgreens. The coupon is good on Wednesday, April 2. They will refill any refillable black or color cartridge except for Epson or Canon. If you did not get a coupon in your local paper, you can print one here or get one from the in-store circular.

Blog Contests and Giveaways

Do you ever enter blog contests or giveaways? I found a really good list tonight at Laura Williams' Musings. Go take a look! I have entered several myself. We'll see if I win anything!

A Few Free Samples

Free sample of Purex Ultra Concentrate.

Free sample of Airborne Power Pixies.

Free sample of Texas Habanero Hot Sauce.

Super Savings Saturday

I got a ton of great deals this week! It would take me way too long to list them all, so I will just do the highlights.

On Thursday, I went to Harris Teeter, Wal-Mart, and 2 grocery salvage stores. Here is everything I got:
My total for all of this was $32.08!

Today I went to Ingles and the thrift store.

At Ingles, I got this stuff...

...and I paid $2.64 for it! I used my coupon for a free product from Mission (read about it in my Mail Call post). The lunch meat was marked down to $1.99 for a pound. The success rice was free after my coupon doubled. The salad was marked down to $1.49 and $0.99. I had found coupons for $2.00 off 2 when I was at Harris Teeter, so I got both salads for $0.47.

At the thrift store I found some tennis shoes for my son. They were $0.99.

Mail Call!

I only got two things in the mail today, but they were both good.

First, I got my sample of True Lemon. It had 2 packets of True Lemon, 1 of True Lime, and 1 of True Orange. It also had a coupon for $.40 off.

Second, I got a check from American Consumer Opinion for $8.00. I really like doing surveys from them because they send you a check as soon as you complete a survey, and they generally pay you between $4.00 and $8.00. I have also been able to do product testing for them. I get to keep the product, and I get a check as well.

Free Stuff by Phone

I found this on More Than Enough:

Two great freebies to share from the 800 numbers I have called.

Apple & Eve Juice (1-800-960-8018) - Sent me a coupon for one free Apple & Eve Juice product coupon along with 2 $1/1 coupons! You can also register on their website for additional coupons; sign up to be on their Advisory Panel; and sign up to participate in surveys for more free product vouchers! Click here to register.

Soy Joy Bars (1-888-676-9569) - Sent me a coupon for a free Soy Joy bar!

Get a Free Swingline Stapler

All you have to do is take a short survey (I promise it is very short) and you will get a free Swingline stapler worth $20! Click here

Do you have a Grocery Salvage Store?

Some of my favorite places to shop are at the 2 grocery salvage stores I have nearby. I can get lots of things for just as cheap or cheaper than I can with coupons, and I don't have to do all the work organizing my coupons. For example: canned goods = $.35, all pasta = $.25, juice = $.75. I got a whole bunch of granola bars yesterday for $.33 a box. To find out if you have one of these stores near you, try checking Yahoo. Click on the "local" tab at the top, type in your zip code, and do a search for "Grocery salvage stores" or something of that nature. You never know, you might find out you have one that you never knew about.

More-Than-Free Glade Plug-ins

If you got a Sunday paper on March 16th, you should have gotten a coupon for $3 off a Glade Plugins Scented Oil Warmer. These are only $2.47 at Wal-Mart. I got 2 of them today, and made $.53 on each. I bought a case of Pampers, 3 boxes of Honey Bunches of Oats, and 2 Glade Plug-ins. I used 3 of the $2 Honey Bunches of Oats coupons and 2 of the $3 Glade Plug-ins coupons. (I should have used a Pampers coupon, but it was in the car, and I didn't feel like going back out.) My total for everything was less than the price of the Pampers! I love overage!

Harris Teeter: Oh, so much fun!

Early this morning I found myself on my way to Harris Teeter to take advantage of their triple coupons. I was a bit nervous as I have never had the opportunity to do this before, and I wasn't sure if it would turn out as well as I was hoping. But it did! Here's what I got:

The grand total? $10.24

And the really incredible thing about this is that $10 worth of this stuff I didn't even use coupons for!

Remember that catalina on Kellogg's cereal at Bi-lo and Food Lion? Well, they have the same thing at Harris Teeter. I bought Raisin Bran because I had some $3/2 coupons. It was also on sale for $2.39 a box. So I bought my 7 boxes of cereal first, got my $10 catalina, then started a new order and used my $10 off on all my other items. I paid $7.40 for the cereal, then paid $2.84 for everything else.

Wow! What a great day!

Grocery Gathering

It's time for the Thursday edition of the Grocery Gathering over at BeCentsAble. Make sure you go over and take a look!

Good deal on cereal at Food Lion

This is very similar to the Bi-Lo deal I posted earlier. I got this from Candace via Money Saving Mom:
Starting tomorrow, select Kelloggs cereals go on sale B1G1 (Frosted Flakes, Corn Pops, Fruit Loops and Apple Jacks). The regular price is $2.96-$3.25, so you can get one for $1.48-$1.63.
There is a catalina that prints until 3/30 for any Kelloggs (12 oz or larger):
buy 3-4 save $3 on next order
buy 5-6 save $6 on next order
buy 7 or more save $10 on your next order
There is a limit of two free (I assume on each kind), so if you buy 7 you'll have to get 4 of one kind, three of another, or some other combination. It has to be all in one transaction.
If you buy 7 it should cost $10.36-$11.41, and you get a catalina for $10 back.

Thanks Freebies 4 Mom!

Subway Deal

I love to eat at Subway. But I don't like to have to drain my life savings just to pay for my food. I'm sure you don't either. That's why I'm letting you know about their $5 footlongs! Yay!

Monday, March 24, 2008

Boxtops for Diecuts

Do you have a bunch of products with "Boxtops for Education" on them, but don't know of any schools that use the Boxtops? Get something for yourself or a scrapbooking friend at "Boxtops for Diecuts." Each boxtop earns you $.05 toward any of The Diecut Lady's products. You can even use boxtops to pay for shipping and handling. Get more details here, and start putting those boxtops to good use!

Free Product at Bath and Body Works

Get your coupon for a free product (up to $11 value) with any purchase at Bath and Body Works. I have heard folks saying they bought something for $1, and got $11 worth free! I don't know what the "product" is; it may vary depending on your store. Whatever it is, this coupon provides you with a very inexpensive way to pamper yourself or someone you know.

A Couple Free Meals

Sign up for Zaxby's Z-Mail club, and they will send you a coupon for a free meal. I did this a while back, and I did receive the coupon.

Get a free breakfast at Jamba Juice on April 8 between 6am and 10 am. Find out if there's a store near you! Store locator

Um, Can We Say "More Honey Bunches of Oats"?

The Honey Bunches of Oats coupons have been reset again! Print a $2 coupon for Honey Bunches of Oats with Chocolate Clusters here, here, and here! You can only print one coupon per computer this time, though. (Oh, how sad, I can only add 3 more boxes to my stash of 24 boxes!) Go get yourself some more free or cheap cereal! I have gotten all of mine at Wal-Mart because that's the only store I can find that carries the chocolate kind. They are $2.24 regular price, but other grocery stores often have them on sale 2 for $4.00, so I just price match them when they're on sale somewhere else. Enjoy!

Saturday, March 22, 2008

Good deal on cereal at Bi-Lo

Buy 7 boxes of select Kellogg's cereal, and get a catalina for $10.00 off your next order. This offer lasts until March 30.

The cereals to choose from are:
Raisin Bran
Frosted Flakes
Fruit Loops

You can get coupons for $3/2 Raisin Bran here
The Frosted Flakes and the Fruit Loops are BOGO until the 25th. They will
ring up half price.

I don't know the prices on any of these, but I will be asking my husband to check on his way to work Monday. This will still be a good deal, though, even if the prices are relatively high.

Let's price them hypothetically at $4.00 a box. I highly doubt they would be that much, but if they were, then the BOGO cereal would ring up $2.00 a box. 7 boxes would be $14.00. After you get the $10.00 catalina, that would be 7 boxes for $4.00, or $0.57 a box. Not bad!
I'll post the "un-hypothetical" prices as soon as I find them out!

Now Taking Requests

Are you looking for a good deal on something specific? Do you shop at any certain store and want to know what the best deals are? Let me know, and I will do my best to come up with the information for you! Leave a comment stating what you're looking for, and I will post my findings as soon as possible!

A Confession and an Admonition

My apologies for not posting anything yesterday. My husband surprised me and whisked me away to a nearby city for an all-day date! My confession is this: I saw a CVS on the way, and I asked if we could stop and go in. However, since we try to be as frugal on our dates as possible, I made sure to work some snacks for the day into a deal. We got all the snacks we needed, and still came out with 3 more Extra Bucks than when we went in!

So...my admonition is this:
If you have not started shopping at CVS yet, DO IT NOW!!! If you're still a little overwhelmed and confused by how the system works, be sure to read CVS 101 over at Money Saving Mom. It was not until I read that information that I finally got the courage to go and try "CVSing" for myself.

That makes a total of 12 coupons! I just got my 12 free bags today, and we had them for supper tonight. (Hey, I always cheat on dinner on my errand day!) They taste pretty good, and one bag more than filled up my husband and I.
Oh, and I almost forgot! Send in ten UPC's and get a coupon for another free bag!

Mail Call!

I got some really fun stuff in the mail today:

1. A free book for our son. He gets a free book every month from the Cleveland County Partnership for Children. Find out at your local library if this program is available in your county!

2. A box full of samples and coupons from CVS. The only reason I can figure out that they sent it is that I emailed them recently.

3. Parenting magazine. (It was free, of course.)

4. A book I ordered from Amazon. I didn't have to pay for it because I used a giftcard I got for taking a survey. There are lots of good survey sites out there that either pay in cash or giftcards. One of my favorites is Survey Spot. I get survey invitations very frequently from them, and they pay anywhere from one to five dollars per survey. Most of the surveys I have taken have paid three dollars each. You can request payment if you have any amount in your account. I have received every single check I have requested from them.

5. A coupon for a free product from Mission. Go to their website, click "contact us", and there will be a place to click "coupon request." I was expecting a cents-off coupon, not a free item!
