My 2009 coupon savings total

I finally have had a chance to tally my 2009 totals. I keep track each month of all of my grocery receipts and calculate the before coupon total, total $ coupons used, and total paid.  I do not account for the store sales, etc. – I calculate the price it actually rings up for as the before coupon price.  So my savings total is strictly what I saved with coupons.

2009 total

Total before coupons - $5445.43

Coupons used - $2802.12

I paid with tax - $2643.31

Percentage saved – 51%

Weekly spending average – $50.83

I hope that encourages and inspires you to USE COUPONS!  Don’t look at them as just $0.50 or $1.00 – those coupons add up!  I saved my family almost $3000 using coupons this year!

If you would like to track your savings, you can use my simple savings sheet.  I print it and write in the amounts but you could also keep all of it tallied and saved on your computer if you wanted.
