Sunday Sustenance

Matthew 5:14-16 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

If you know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, then these verses apply to you. Your responsibility as a Christian is to let others see an example of Christlikeness in you so that they may be drawn to Him. Do you speak kindly to those with whom you come in contact, or are you rude and short with them? Do you leave a generous tip for that waitress no matter how good or bad of a job she did? Can others who only see you from a distance tell just by looking that there is anything different about you than from the rest of the world? Are you honest in your dealings, or do you try to twist things so they work out to your best advantage? Are your choices of music and entertainment different than the world's choices? If there is not a distinct difference between your life and that of an unsaved person's life, then your light is not shining. And if your light is not shining, then you are directly disobeying one of our Lord's commands. Let's evaluate our lives and make sure our lights are not only shining, but that they are shining as brightly as possible!

If you do not know for sure that your sins have been forgiven, and that you are one of God's children, please read more here, or email me with any questions you may have. I'd love nothing more than for you to have the complete assurance that you will spend eternity in Heaven!
