Paying more can actually save you money…

I found this article that I saw on Yahoo interesting - “Five products I gladly pay more for”

Here is what she states - “Being frugal isn't always sensible, at least not when you are spending extra money to replace the "bargain" item that doesn't work. I've found, in many instances, that it's counterproductive to buy the cheapest products, whether they're food, electronics, or clothing…”

And then she goes on to discuss the top 5 things she spends more money on such as quality shoes, name-brand or mid to top of line electronics, and more.

I definitely agree with her on some of her points.  After struggling with foot pain for over a year, quality shoes is something I definitely invest in.  And we also don’t buy the cheapest item when it comes to big purchases such as appliances, electronics, etc.  We strive to save up for large purchases and then purchase energy-efficient, well-made, mid to top-of-line items that will last us for many years to come.  And even though I might be able to get bologna and highly processed foods for free, I am very willing to spend more on quality cuts of meat and fruits and veggies for the health of my family.

How about you?  What things do you spend more on to save money in the long run?

  1. Woah! I'm really digging the template/theme of this website.
It's simple, yet effective. A lot of times it's tough to get that "perfect balance" between user friendliness and visual appearance.
I must say that you've done a very good job with
this. Also, the blog loads very fast for me on Firefox. Exceptional Blog!
